Nervous system support

Mental health is experienced in both mind and body. Alongside counseling and trauma treatment, selected practices may help clients build awareness, reduce stress and strengthen emotional regulation.

How it fits

These supports are individualized. Your clinician will listen to your goals, explain the purpose of any recommendation and work with you to decide what feels useful and appropriate.

Clinical approaches

Depending on the clinician and treatment plan, care may draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care and somatic awareness.

Supportive practices

Breathwork, movement, yoga, mindfulness and meditation may be offered as complementary regulation practices. Spiritual practices should be clearly labeled asare optional and used only when aligned with a client’s beliefs and preferences.

Wellness education

When relevant, clinicians may provide general education about sleep, movement, nutrition or medication questions and refer clients to appropriately qualified medical professionals.
